¼ cup oil ¼ cup flour 1 pint (warm) whole milk ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
Heat oil until fairly hot. Slowly add flour, whisking until smooth. Gradually add warm milk, whisking constantly until gravy thickens. If necessary for proper consistency, stir in a little more flour or milk. Add salt and black pepper, adjust to taste.
Note: Traditionally bacon grease is used to make this gravy. Here we have substituted oil in it's place.
